In Year 7, students might be engaging with novels and newspapers, poems and plays, digital media and dreamtime stories. It’s important to the Cluey Education Team that every learner feels confident in their understanding and ready to tackle any assignment. We have an ever-expanding bank of resources as well as units ready to support creative and persuasive writing – plus grammar and spelling to give that final polish.

Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Shona studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English at the University of Newcastle and is currently working as a writer and English tutor. She has a passion for English, not only for the language itself, but everything it can teach us about the way our culture is formed and how our world works. As a writer and as a tutor, it's her aim to share and cultivate that passion with others.

Kylie has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Literature, and has a background in accounting. Kylie is an engaging Tutor with a passion for learning who champions and motivates students to achieve their best results.

Parvathy completed her Victorian Certificate of Education in 2019, achieving an ATAR of 95.1 then went on to commence her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne. During 2020 she worked as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School with children aged 6 to 13, helping with Numeracy and Literacy. She also has experience as a Tutor with Primary school students in 2019. Parvathy encourages her students through difficult subjects by explaining theory to them in different and interactive ways.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?

During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
